Hmmmm....I presume there are people in the world with great families who all get on like best friends, but I've never met such a family. Instead, it seems to me, families are situations where people behave in a prescribed manner, determined by long (multi-generation) history. We act out roles that we've learnt unconsciously. Acting out of some sort of sense of duty or guilt seems to be the major theme of family behaviour that I've seen. Who needs this?!
