Christmas in Prague could be fabulous - I'm sure the Christmas markets there are terrific (I seldom buy anything except food in a Christmas market, but they are fun to look round; however, when you have seen one you have seen them all!). What a nuisance about the visas; still, once you are there you'll be able to travel all over Europe with very little formality.
