Too lazy to do synopses - ask if you want to know more about one of the books. Once again, I will not meet my loose goal of 100. Perhaps I should change the goal to 75 and then be please as punch when I meet it and even go over a bit.
64. The Glass Harmonica by Louise Marely
65.The Fifth Doll by Charlie Holmburg
66. The Girl with Magic Hands by Okorafor Nnedi
67. Devil’s Cub by Georgette Heyer
68. The Unremembered Girl by Eliza Maxwell
69. In Calabria by Peter S. Beagle
70. The Other Side of the Sun by Madeleine L’Engle
71. The Orphan Master’s Son by Adam Johnson
72, 73. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll

And how is Beagle's new book? I loved some of his older things, was unimpressed by some of the newer... But haven't read his last few. Course, there have been all kinds of crazy things going on with his ownership of his works and stuff. I feel like I should support him more, as The Last Unicorn really is one of my favorite books of all time.
The Fifth Doll rather disappointed me...
Also, I bet you could pick up 25 of those Tor novellas and finish them in time. ;) Some of them are excellent! Like All Systems Red. Or you could see what happens to bad archaeologists in The Twilight Pariah. haha

Date: 2017-12-04 04:22 pm (UTC)I liked the Beagle book - I might have related far too much to the old cranky rude isolated hermit farmer protagonist, snort.
I quite liked the 5th doll - but it was cheap, and a quick read, and that seems to be about all my brain can handle these days.
Have you watched Broadchurch? I just finished all 3 seasons, and it makes me want to go back and try Tennant's Dr. Who again - I only got a couple of episodes in when I tried it several years ago.

I dunno, Fifth Doll just seemed very... Simple? I guess? Both in plot and writing, so it didn't really transport me anywhere, I suppose. I probably expected too much because I love Russian folklore influenced things.
I have only seen the first episode of Broadchurch, but always mean to watch more. I kind of have a love hate relationship with Doctor Who now. I'm hoping the new season with the new show runner will bring me back into the fold. haha
